INSAKA BACKGROUND
Insaka is a Bemba word for “place to gather”. An “insaka” is a structure which is similar in western thought as a gazebo. In Zambia, our forefathers, traditional rulers, elders, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters gather in one place where the cultural heritage is passed on from one generation to the next through teachings, songs, dance, folktales and storytelling. Our talk show therefore stems from our traditional roots in order for us to engage our community via virtual technology.
